Felix Ends 1932!

At last we finish “Felix 1932”! All the strips from 12-18 to 12-31-1932! I like the gag in the 12-22, where Felix keeps the Wolf from Danny’s door by shooting a magazine salesman in a racoon coat! Felix and Danny are now inseparable companions, as they will be from 1933 on. The Sundays are good this time, with a radio repair gag in the 12-18, and a Magician’s Coat and Hat gag for the Christmas strip. Don’t fail to look at out beautiful header this time out, as Cathy Hill, (my favorite cartoonist and artist) presents her rabbits and chicks digging a compost pile in honor of spring planting season. Cathy and I are also digging compost piles around here as well! Next post I will complete the “Now Listen Mabel” strips I have on hand, until then, thanks for reading!

Hi,
Thank you for posting so many old comic strips over nearly twenty years with this blog. It’s a valuable resource. I’m having a bit of trouble navigating the site, though, and there’s no search function, so I wanted to ask via a comment: Do you happen to have posted the Felix strips from 1923-1927 on this site at any point?
I’m planning a project next year where I upload the daily and weekly comics from 1925 for as many comics as I can find scanned online, because 1925 and 2026 have synced calendars and the dates will match up perfectly. My hope is that comic fans can read the various strips of each day and experience the world 101 years ago together. I think Felix was only a Sunday comic in this era, but if the strips exist online, I want to add it to the project!
Sincerely,
Bea Baker

Hi Bea,
Thanks for writing to the Catblog! I haven’t posted the Felix Sundays from 1923-1927 yet. They should be available on newspapers.com. I just found some listings in the 1924s, including the Santa Rosa Republican, The Pittsburg Press, The Arizona Daily Star, etc. Just search under “Pat Sullivan”, not “Felix the Cat”, you get more hits that way. Good luck with your project, sounds massive! All best, Mark Kausler and Itza Cat
